One copper plate was etched with two figures of opposite sexes. Three variations of the print were made upon what i found to be inadequate prints, using: gesso, pen, ink, and acrylic paint. . .
They went from,
one, accentuating the contour and shapes of the original drawing amid what were preliminary, decorative, or simply confusing line work.
two, coloring, re-defining contours with brush strokes of color or washes.
three, re-developing the original image into a new “scene.” using lines and color to no longer accentuate but create newer forms and structures playing off the original.
